2. Fees and Payment Policy
- Fees apply once you begin using the GoTax Online Tax Return Process. Charges occur after ATO pre-fill or if you proceed without pre-fill.
- The fee covers access to our platform, guidance, and tax advice—it is not dependent on whether you receive a tax refund or have a tax bill.
- Fees remain payable regardless of whether you complete, submit, or abandon your tax return. Your engagement with the GoTax system incurs a fee that is not conditional on final lodgement.
- Lodging your tax return is an additional complimentary service.
- Your tax return will not be lodged if we determine it is not fit for submission, but fees remain payable for the use of our system.
- Refund Policy: GoTax service fees are non-refundable once the tax return process has commenced. Refunds may only be issued in cases of duplicate payments or billing errors. Requests for refunds must be made within 7 days of payment by contacting our support team.
3. Scope of Service & Advice
- GoTax provides general tax advice as part of our service.
- However, we do not offer personalised financial planning, legal services, or representation in ATO disputes without prior agreement.
- For complex tax matters, we recommend consulting with GoTax first to ensure appropriate assessment of the situation is undertaken.
4. Using Our Services
- Our services are only available to users over 18 years old.
- Prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and exclude GST.
- We strive to keep our pricing up to date but may change fees without prior notice.
- Changes to Fees: GoTax reserves the right to adjust service fees at any time. Fee changes will apply to new transactions and will not affect users who have already paid. Any significant changes will be communicated via the website or email notification.
5. Account Security & Responsibility
- Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
- Any unauthorised use of your account must be reported immediately.
- GoTax is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access due to a user’s failure to secure their login details.
6. Website Access & Restrictions
- You can browse our website and download content for personal use.
- You cannot:
- Modify, copy, or distribute website content without permission.
- Use data mining, robots, or mirror our site.
- Link to our site without approval.
7. User Conduct & Misuse Policy

- User Responsibility: GoTax is not responsible for errors or omissions in tax returns caused by user-provided information. Users are responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of their tax return before submission.
- Tax Outcome Disclaimer: GoTax does not guarantee any specific tax refund amount or outcome. Tax return results depend on individual circumstances and ATO assessments. GoTax is not liable for any discrepancies between user expectations and ATO determinations.
- Under consumer law, if our services are defective, we will:
- Repair or replace defective services, or
- Offer a refund as required under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (C&C Act).
- If you are not a consumer under the C&C Act, our liability is limited to resupplying the services or refunding the cost.
11. Indemnity & Legal Jurisdiction
- By using our site, you agree to indemnify us from any claims or damages related to your use of our services.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes must be settled in Queensland courts.
- Compliance with ATO Regulations: Users are responsible for ensuring their tax returns comply with ATO regulations. GoTax is not liable for any penalties, audits, or legal consequences resulting from incorrect or fraudulent submissions.
12. Privacy & Security
- We take privacy seriously and protect your data in line with our Privacy Policy.
- While we do our best to keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Termination of Services
- GoTax reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to its services at any time if a user is found to be in violation of these Terms & Conditions, engaged in fraudulent activity, or misuses the platform in any way.
- Any fees paid are non-refundable in such cases.
14. False Information and Fee Recovery
- By using the GoTax platform, you agree to provide true and accurate information regarding your income, tax credits, and any supporting documentation. If you knowingly submit false or fabricated income statements, tax credits, or refund information for the purpose of accessing Fee From Refund (FFR) payment options, GoTax reserves the right to recover service fees directly from your nominated bank account.
- Where GoTax identifies discrepancies between your submitted information and ATO records, and your return cannot be lodged or accepted due to these false declarations, your FFR agreement remains in force. In such cases, you authorise GoTax to debit the full service fee from your nominated bank account without further notice or communication.
- The use of false information may also result in permanent suspension from the GoTax platform and referral to the appropriate authorities.
